Transmission Project Team Lead

Our Transmission & Distribution team is in search of a Transmission Project Team Lead to join our Austin, TX office. This role will involve overseeing high-voltage transmission line design projects ranging from 69 kV to 500 kV, requiring strong leadership, a strategic mindset, and an entrepreneurial spirit for both overhead and underground systems.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to manage project execution, ensuring timely delivery, complying with scope and budget, and maintaining strong client relationships. Additionally, you will be involved in business development and proposal activities alongside Account Managers.

• Manage multiple transmission line projects from start to finish
• Act as the main point of contact for clients
• Develop proposals and lead presentations
• Track project schedules, budgets, and scope
• Implement project controls and risk management processes
• Supervise internal teams and subcontractors
• Handle financial aspects of projects
• Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
• Conduct progress meetings and provide regular updates
• Support business development efforts

For design-focused projects, responsibilities include:

• Manage engineering efforts and design schedules
• Control engineering budgets and deliverables
• Oversee QA/QC processes
• Coordinate subcontracting and field services
• Handle change orders and client reports
• Plan for project turnover and startup

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 7+ years of experience in utility transmission projects
• PE license and PMP certification preferred
• Experience managing teams and stakeholder relationships
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel
• Valid driver’s license
