BGE is seeking a Project Engineer (PE) for the Transportation Systems department in our South Austin Office.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises engineering interns, EITs, designers, technicians and others.
• Plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates engineering work involving conventional practices but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements.
• Performs engineering associated with highway planning and design including horizontal and vertical geometry, Open Roads 3D modeling, retaining wall layouts, quantity calculations, miscellaneous details, and final plan deliverables.
• Interprets and applies applicable codes and exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
• Registered PE in Texas
• TxDOT Experience
• Knowledge of PS&E Processes
• 4-8 years of professional experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Experience with Micro Station and Open Roads 3D Modeling software
