BIM / Revit Designer Contract Position
On site – Austin TX $45.00 - $57.00 per hour Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Holidays, Accrued PTO, 401k with company match after 90 days.
Position OverviewThis role will support engineering and design projects within technically complex industrial and advanced manufacturing environments. This is for the designer who enjoys working on technical projects requiring detailed BIM coordination across multiple engineering departments. You will combine your Revit and AutoCAD skills with hands-on experience in technical facility design. Candidates with semiconductor tool-hookup, cleanroom, laboratory, electrical, chemical/gas, or advanced manufacturing experience are prioritized.
Prepare working drawings (at least two) in:
Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Life Safety.
Develop equipment layouts, elevations, sections, renderings, and architectural, electrical, or mechanical details.
Create, maintain, and improve BIM templates, Revit families, libraries, and project standards.
Develop and manipulate Revit models, AutoCAD drawings and associated BIM tools.
Perform BIM design coordination and identify potential design conflicts.
Prepare drawings and 3D models for specialized environments - clean rooms, laboratories, chemical storage areas, gas storage and distribution areas, and associated support facilities.
Incorporate equipment submittals, manufacturer information, field conditions, and as-built information into BIM models.
Support semiconductor equipment and tool-hookup design.
Assist with electrical design, modeling, and coordination as required.
Utilize Navisworks or similar software to review, verify, and coordinate design models.
Participate in design reviews and incorporate project revisions.
Maintain accurate and organized project documentation in accordance with established design and quality standards.
Support field verification and as-built documentation when required.
Qualifications & ExperienceAssociate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline preferred. A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional design/drafting experience will also be considered. Proficiency with:
Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, BIM workflows, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite. Revit modeling experience, including development and modification of families, templates, and model components. Experience with in semiconductor, cleanroom, laboratory, or other high-tech manufacturing environments preferred. Coordinating multidisciplinary BIM models. Producing detailed construction and engineering drawings. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, equipment documentation, and manufacturer data.
Electrical design and modeling, Cleanroom design, Laboratory design, High-Purity Manufacturing (HPM) environments, Hazardous process materials, Chemical and specialty gas systems, Equipment layout and facility integration, Navisworks model verification and coordination, Applicable building, life-safety, and hazardous-material codes, Insurance and regulatory requirements associated with the use and storage of hazardous process materials.
