Controls Technician – Service & Construction (BMS & EPMS)The Data Center Global Services team seeks a Controls Technician to support the Service & Construction of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) in Amazon data centers. You will work with field sensors, controllers, wiring, networking and programming to ensure these systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Primarily work in field at Data Center sites and support multiple sites under Deployment and/or Service.
- Perform point‑to‑point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
- Conduct first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting and maintenance of instrumentation associated with the BMS and EPMS.
- Execute network configurations and communication testing between third‑party devices and controllers or servers.
- Configure and calibrate sensors.
- Read and understand electrical schematics, control panel drawings; basic knowledge of closed‑loop controls, field sensor scaling and typical industrial controller functions.
- Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors who wire and install field devices.
- Support commissioning and system‑level testing.
- Provide red‑lined drawings and recommendations based on field work; verify accuracy of as‑built drawings.
- Assist in performing root‑cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
- Ensure all personnel on site use proper safety methodology.
- Work on‑call and on a rotating schedule; respond to after‑hours emergencies.
- Perform basic support concepts such as ticketing systems, root‑cause analysis, and task prioritization.
- Walk job sites on uneven terrain; work at heights and from ladders.
- Use hands and fingers; handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 49 pounds; participate in group lifts of 50 pounds or more.
- Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.
- 1+ year of technical work with computer systems and technology components, or related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent,

* * 4+ years of professional or military experience. - 3+ years of electrical or mechanical experience,
** or
* * 1+ year of data center or mission‑critical facilities experience (e.g., hospital, military facility, public safety facility).
- 1+ year of data center engineering or data center / mission‑critical facilities experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of network design and layout, and low‑voltage (copper / fiber) cabling.
- Experience with industrial control systems, both hardware and software.
- Experience in controls, audit, compliance, or SOX roles.
