A well-established, employee-owned engineering firm is seeking a motivated Water/Wastewater Engineer with 5+ years of experience to support regional water and wastewater infrastructure projects from its Austin, Texas office. Position overviewAs the Water/Wastewater Engineer, you will contribute to the design and implementation of water and wastewater systems, including treatment facilities, pump stations, and distribution networks. You'll collaborate with senior staff, engage with clients, and contribute to operations and maintenance planning for municipal and industrial systems.
Key responsibilities- Design water distribution and wastewater collection systems, pump stations, and treatment units
- Perform hydraulic calculations and pump sizing
- Prepare and manage plans, specifications, permitting documents, technical reports, and cost estimates
- Participate in client meetings and maintain strong relationships with municipal and private stakeholders
- Coordinate regional project execution
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Integrate current industry trends and technologies into project solutions
- Support operations and maintenance planning for water and wastewater treatment facilities
- Minimum 5 years in water/wastewater engineering, including design and operations/maintenance of treatment plants and pump stations
- Bachelor's degree in an ABET-accredited engineering program
- P.E. license required, with ability to obtain a Texas P.E. within 6 months of employment
- Familiarity with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations
- Strong communication, leadership, and client engagement abilities
- Ability to travel and work overtime as needed
