  • Collaborate across cross‑functional teams—including manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and product design—to facilitate new product launches and scale‑up to mass production.
  • Support commissioning of new test systems, validate testers, and contribute to the deployment of automated testing solutions.
Required Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or proven hands‑on engineering expertise.
  • Practical experience with Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in LabVIEW, Test Stand, Python, C/C++, and SQL.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and control systems (e.g., Siemens) is a plus.
  • Experience working in high‑volume manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with test equipment, automation systems, and engineered hardware, including high‑and low‑voltage systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with an ability to prioritize tasks and think creatively under pressure.
  • Passion for Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.
Nice to Have

Skills:
  • Experience with control systems such as Siemens PLCs.
  • Prior work in a fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing setting.
  • Additional programming skills or certifications related to automation or control systems.
Preferred

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant engineering or technical field.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing automation, test development, or systems commissioning preferred.
Other Requirements:
  • This position is based onsite at our Austin Gigafactory.
  • Occasional travel may be required for commissioning or troubleshooting across facilities.
  • This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a pay rate ranging from $40 to $55 per hour, based on experience.
