Miller Gray is a locally owned, growing civil engineering firm based in Austin, and we're looking for a licensed Professional Engineer to help lead our water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects across Central Texas. This is an exciting opportunity to work on essential public infrastructure for municipalities and utility providers, including water and wastewater pipelines, pump stations, lift stations, utility relocations, and capital improvement projects
. You'll work alongside experienced project managers, take ownership of project design, mentor junior staff, and help deliver infrastructure that serves growing communities throughout the region.
- Lead the design and delivery of water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects from concept through construction
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
- Design water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, force mains, pump stations, lift stations, and related utility infrastructure
- Coordinate with municipalities, utility providers, regulatory agencies, subconsultants, and project stakeholders throughout project development
- Perform engineering analyses and ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and industry standards
- Support business development by preparing proposals, scopes, schedules, fee estimates, and participating in client meetings and interviews
- Mentor Project Engineers, EITs and junior staff while supporting quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) throughout project delivery
- Provide engineering support during bidding and construction, including responding to contractor questions, reviewing submittals, and assisting with construction administration
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas
- 5+ years of experience in water, wastewater, or utility infrastructure design
- Experience delivering municipal public works or utility capital improvement projects
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with any of the following is a plus
:
Utility master planning;
WaterCAD, SewerCAD, or similar hydraulic modeling software;
Lift station and pump station design;
Utility relocations and coordination - Strong communication
