Help Build the Infrastructure Powering the Future

Oil production. Hyperscale data centers. Reliable electricity. Advanced manufacturing. America's energy infrastructure is evolving at an unprecedented pace, and none of it happens without environmental approvals.

At Bright Sky Environmental, we help bring critical energy and digital infrastructure projects from concept to construction by solving complex environmental and regulatory challenges. Every permit, emissions analysis, and compliance strategy we develop helps clients move projects forward that support the technologies and industries shaping tomorrow.

If you're an engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, learning quickly, and making an impact early in your career, we'd love to meet you.

Why Bright Sky Environmental?

Bright Sky Environmental is a woman-owned environmental consulting firm headquartered in Austin, Texas. Since 2018, we've earned the trust of developers, operators, investors, engineering firms, and technology companies building some of the country's most innovative energy infrastructure.

Our team supports projects across:

  • Oil and gas infrastructure
  • Utility-scale and distributed energy facilities
  • Hyperscale data centers supporting AI and cloud computing
  • Industrial manufacturing

We've helped authorize hundreds of industrial facilities, supported environmental compliance for thousands of operating assets, and worked on projects across North America's most active energy regions.

Many of the projects we support don't fit neatly into traditional regulatory frameworks. That's what makes our work exciting. Our engineers develop practical, technically sound solutions that help clients navigate new technologies, evolving regulations, and ambitious project schedules.

You have built the technical foundation. Now use it to move bigger work forward.

Senior team members take on greater ownership, deepen client relationships, guide project strategy, and help shape how Bright Sky tackles fast-moving infrastructure challenges.

In a lean firm, experience carries weight. Your judgment can influence the project, the client relationship, and where the company goes next. To encourage our culture of entrepreneurship, Bright Sky Environmental offers sales commissions to all staff who bring or win projects.

What You'll Do

Bright Sky Environmental is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Air Permitting Manager for immediate, full-time employment. This role is ideal for a senior air quality permitting and compliance professional who enjoys technical work, client interaction, project leadership, and business development.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Lead and support air quality permitting and compliance projects, including technical strategy, regulatory applicability analyses, emissions calculations, and permit application preparation.
  • Lead and develop project team members.
  • Provide technical review and QA/QC for air permitting and compliance deliverables.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, staffing, and client communication for active consulting projects.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients in oil and gas, power generation, data center power, and other industrial sectors.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff through technical guidance, review, and project leadership.
  • Support business development with a seller-doer mindset, including building client relationships, identifying new opportunities, and helping grow Bright Sky Environmental's air practice.
  • Help shape the future of the company with an immediate leadership role and a path to grow into a director-level position.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, environmental science, or a closely related discipline from an accredited university plus at least 7 years of relevant air quality permitting and compliance experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education.
