Position OverviewAs a Mechanical Commissioning Superintendent, you will play a key leadership role in overseeing the safe, efficient, and high-quality commissioning of major mechanical systems on large industrial projects. This role is responsible for leading pre-commissioning, commissioning, functional testing, system readiness, and turnover activities while coordinating closely with engineering, construction, vendors, operations, and project leadership.

Responsibilities- Lead daily safety meetings and ensure full compliance with all mechanical safety procedures, including LOTO and permitting.
- Coordinate and oversee pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and start‑up of major mechanical systems (pumps, piping, rotating equipment, HVAC, etc.).
- Conduct system walk‑downs, identify deficiencies, and ensure systems are ready for testing and turnover.
- Supervise and support functional testing, including flushing, hydrotesting, equipment alignment, leak checks, and mechanical run‑ins.
- Troubleshoot mechanical system issues and implement corrective actions during commissioning.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, operations, vendors, and OEMs to meet system readiness and performance requirements.
- Track system progress and provide clear status updates to commissioning and project leadership.
- Maintain accurate commissioning documentation, including checklists, test records, redlines, and turnover packages.
- Preferred degree in Mechanical Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent field experience.
- Experience in pre-commissioning and commissioning of large-scale mechanical systems, including HVAC, hydronic systems, process cooling, piping, pumps, rotating equipment, and mechanical infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage craft teams through system turnover, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with completions software and system readiness workflows used during mechanical commissioning.
- Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills to effectively work across construction, engineering, vendors, OEMs, and commissioning teams to meet system readiness milestones.
