Field Application Engineer (FAE) – Communications & RF Business (Austin, USA)
Role Overview
L&T Semiconductor Technologies (LTSCT) seeks an experienced Field Application Engineer (FAE) to support customers deploying communication, RF, and connectivity semiconductor solutions. The FAE will serve as the key technical liaison between customers, sales, and engineering teams, driving product evaluations, design wins, and successful product adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support during product evaluation, design-in, integration, and production.
- Support RF, wireless connectivity, communication SoCs, mixed-signal, and analog semiconductor solutions.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and customer workshops.
- Assist customers with system integration, RF tuning, validation, debugging, and performance optimization.
- Act as the bridge between customers and internal engineering teams, ensuring rapid issue resolution.
- Develop application notes, reference designs, technical documentation, and customer training materials.
- Support engagements across 5G/6G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GNSS, Satellite Communications, Automotive Connectivity, Industrial IoT, and Networking applications.
- Gather market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to influence product roadmaps.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, RF Engineering, or related field.
- 8-12 years of semiconductor industry experience in FAE, Applications Engineering, RF Systems, or Wireless Product Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of RF technologies, wireless communications (5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, UWB, GNSS), communication SoCs, and embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with RF lab equipment including VNA, Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscope, and Signal Generators.
- Excellent customer-facing communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
Travel: Up to 30-40% domestic and international travel.
Success Metrics: Design wins, customer satisfaction, technical issue resolution, product adoption, and revenue influenced through customer engagements.
