Project Manager - Land Development

Alexander Associates are working with a mid-sized civil engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Land Development Project Manager to its Austin team.

The position will involve managing a variety of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use development projects across the Greater Austin region.

Salary: $120,000-$170,000, depending on experience.

• Manage land and site development projects from initial planning through construction
• Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules and technical deliverables
• Coordinate the preparation of grading, drainage, paving and utility plans
• Lead and support civil engineers, designers and technical staff
• Liaise with clients, municipalities, review agencies and external consultants
• Manage permitting, entitlement and approval processes
• Review engineering plans, calculations, reports and specifications
• Assist with proposals, client development and business-development activities
• Maintain project quality and ensure work is completed to the required standards
• Support the continued growth of the company’s Austin operation

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Texas Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain one
• Previous land or site development engineering experience
• Experience managing civil engineering projects and technical teams
• Working knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater design
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
• Strong communication, leadership and client-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Knowledge of the Austin development market would be beneficial
