About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer with a specialization in Water Resources to join their team in George . You will play a crucial role in managing and developing water infrastructure projects, focusing on sustainable water management, supply, and treatment solutions for the Western Cape region. This position involves detailed design, project coordination, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

You will work within a forward-thinking organization committed to innovative engineering practices and community well-being, contributing to vital water security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and manage water resource projects, including dams, pipelines, water treatment plants, and stormwater systems.
  • Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses to assess water availability and flood risks.
  • Develop and implement sustainable water management strategies and conservation plans.
  • Prepare technical specifications, tender documents, and environmental impact assessments.
  • Oversee construction activities, ensuring quality and adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, consultants, and community stakeholders on water-related matters.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in water resource engineering, including project design and management.
  • Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA or eligibility.
  • Strong understanding of hydrology , hydraulics , water quality, and wastewater treatment processes.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as HEC-RAS, EPANET, and GIS .
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
