Job Overview

Retro Studios is seeking an Animator to bring life to a wide range of characters, creatures, bosses, and cinema tics across multiple projects.

• Implement and maintain animations for a wide range of characters, creatures, bosses, cinema tics and anything that moves.
• Collaborate and share ideas on animation as well as other aspects of projects such as gameplay and story.
• Identify needs and propose solutions that improve the production pipeline, focusing on long‑term improvements.
• Receive and give constructive feedback to grow skills.
• Demonstrate technical proficiency with animation deployment; set up simple characters and use a variety of tools to accelerate workflow.
• Maintain familiarity with the game, latest changes and updates within a dynamic creative team.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, contributing expertise and leveraging others’ expertise to achieve collective goals.
• Express enthusiasm for the position.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with in‑game and/or cinematic game animation, including at least 2 full production cycles.
• A robust portfolio that demonstrates a wide range of animation experience.
• Significant experience animating in Maya.
• Undergraduate degree in art‑related subject or completion of an intensive art training program is preferred; specific experience can substitute for formal education.
• Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
