Position: Event and Game Day Operations Coordinator

Event and Game Day Operations Coordinator

Austin Peay State University invites interested applicants for the Event and Game Day Operations Coordinator position. This role maintains event management standards for selected sports and events within the Athletics Department, focusing on improving the event experience. The position requires a strong working knowledge of NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations. This is a temporary, 30-hour per week position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create game day and event documents: timing sheets, visiting team guides, security notes, etc.
  • Organize and run event operations meetings.
  • Coordinate with teams, officials, and visiting teams on game-day needs.
  • Lead in set-up and striking of required game-day equipment.
  • Supervise event staff working varsity sports to ensure proper management.
  • Maintain compliance with NCAA, Atlantic Sun Conference, and Austin Peay State University policies.
  • Assist in scheduling table crew and game officials.
  • Work with the Athletic Business Office to ensure all game-day staff receive payment (third-party staffing, table crew, officials).
  • Attend game management meetings for Football games, the United Athletic Conference Championship, and the FCS Playoff Games.
  • Assist the game manager in assigned area.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Required to work nights, weekends, and may be asked to travel.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, particularly in managing staff and volunteers.
  • Knowledge of NCAA and/or collegiate athletics regulations and policies is a plus.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
Physical Requirements
  • Light Work:
    Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
