The Technical Director is responsible for the safe, on-time, and on-budget technical execution of every production and event across Luxora’s four spaces. This role owns the venue’s stage systems — rigging, lighting, audio, video, power, and stage machinery — and is the primary technical point of contact for incoming clients from first site visit through load-out.

The TD advances technical riders, confirms that client needs fit the house’s capabilities, identifies rental gaps early, schedules and supervises house crew and overhire, and maintains all house equipment and infrastructure. This position works closely with the Assistant Technical Director / Production Coordinator, the Audio Manager, and the Lighting/Video Lead to deliver fast, safe changeovers between back-to-back bookings.

• Serve as primary technical contact for all rental clients; advance technical riders, conduct site visits and walkthroughs, and translate client needs into house plans, crew calls, and equipment lists
• Own the Main Theater’s stage systems: rigging and fly system, stage floor, power distribution, and stage machinery; maintain inspection logs and compliance documentation
• Build and maintain the master technical calendar in coordination with Bookings; identify conflicts between overlapping events across the Main Theater, Production Holding Suites, Photography Studio, and Backstage Lounge
• Develop and maintain venue tech packs, ground plans, sections, and line-set schedules for each space; keep them current and client-ready
• Lead load-ins, changeovers, and load-outs; supervise house crew and overhire technicians on the deck
• Hire, schedule, train, and supervise full-time, part-time, and overhire technical staff, including timesheet approval, performance feedback, and development
• Implement and enforce the venue workplace safety program, including fall protection, rigging inspections, lift certification, and incident reporting; hold regular safety briefings
• Develop and manage the technical operations budget and per-event technical cost estimates; produce accurate labor and equipment quotes for the sales/booking team
• Coordinate outside rentals (audio, lighting, video, staging, backline) when client needs exceed house inventory; manage vendor relationships and delivery logistics
• Maintain house equipment inventory, preventative maintenance schedules, and repair/replacement planning; manage the capital equipment request list
• Coordinate facility repairs and inspections affecting the stage and technical areas with the Facilities Manager and General Manager
• Work with the ATD / Production Coordinator, Audio Manager, and Lighting/Video Lead to solve cross-departmental problems and achieve fast, safe changeovers
