Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Steven Douglas is exclusively engaged on an opportunity for a Director of FP&A in Austin, Texas.

Reporting to the CFO, the Director of FP&A is responsible for leading financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic decision‑making processes. This role involves delivering insightful and action‑oriented analyses and reporting, creating financial models, and collaborating across departments to provide actionable recommendations that drive the company’s financial performance and strategic goals.

About the Role

  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial models to support strategic planning and decision‑making across the enterprise.
  • Monitor key business trends and provide insightful, driver‑based, and actionable variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecast, and historical performance.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA/CFA preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools, such as Excel and financial planning software.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, GAAP, and key business drivers.
  • Proven track record of delivering results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial data for non‑finance audiences.
  • Exceptional problem‑solving and strategic thinking capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Prior experience in a global company preferred.
