Location: Austin, Texas | Flexible Hybrid (2-3 days in office)

Reports To: Partners / CFO

We are a boutique RIA wealth management firm looking for a hands‑on Controller to lead our accounting and finance function. In this role, you will work closely with the firm’s principals, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and build scalable processes to support our growth in AUM.

• Own month‑end close and prepare monthly and annual GAAP financial statements.
• Maintain chart of accounts and ensure accurate books for the RIA and management company.

• Track revenue tied to AUM, fee schedules and planning services.
• Provide straightforward financial insights to leadership (margins, hiring capacity, tech and office spend).

• Build and maintain the annual budget and simple rolling forecasts.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital; manage banking relationships.
• Coordinate with external tax advisors on firm‑level returns and partner K‑1s.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual review.

• Maintain internal controls over cash, expenses, and payouts.
• Partner with compliance to ensure financials support Form ADV and other RIA regulatory requirements.
• Prepare financial data requested by regulators and custodians, (if any).

• CPA
• Tax expertise is strongly preferred.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience; prior Controller or strong Assistant Controller role.
• Experience in RIA, wealth management, or asset management strongly preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and ownership of month‑end close.
• Comfortable in a small, entrepreneurial environment.
• High integrity, strong attention to detail, and clear communication skills.

• Direct experience with AUM‑based billing, advisor comp/payouts, and custodial platforms.
• Partnership accounting and K‑1 experience.
