Overview
Our client in the Austin market is looking to hire a senior tax manager to join their team for the upcoming tax season. As a tax manager, you will lead client tax engagements from start to finish, utilizing your prior technical experience to help clients navigate their tax compliance requirements as well as leading the consulting and planning process. You will be responsible for managing the client’s tax deadlines, filing requirements, and analyzing billing/collections related to the client engagement.
Coaching and mentoring junior associates are important in this role, as the growth of all team members is important to the growth of our practice. This remote role presents a unique opportunity for fast professional development, learning and growing in a team-oriented group with limited travel expectations.
- High-net-worth individuals and family groups
- S corps, partnerships, LLC, Passthrough
- Public accounting and CPA required.
- Accurately preparing and filing federal and state tax returns in a timely manner
- Developing tax strategies to assist clients in being tax-compliant
- Identifying tax problems and developing solutions
- Completing responses and schedules in preparation for income tax audits
- Monitoring developments in tax legislation
- Reviewing tax returns
- Informing management and staff of developments in tax legislation
- Supervising members of the tax team to ensure that tax returns are completed correctly
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience at a public accounting firm (preferably a Big 4, national, regional, or large local firm) in one of the below areas
- Serving high net worth individuals and families and consulting and compliance experience working with personal, estate/gift & trust tax issues
- Serving real estate businesses, consulting and compliance experience working with multi-state business entities, and experience reviewing partnership agreements and apply concepts for allocation purposes
- Serving business entities, consulting and compliance experience working with multi-state business entities, experience working with FASB ASC 740
- CPA certification
- Strong written and verbal communications and people skills
- Excellent technology, project management and presentation skills
- Advanced degree in taxation preferred
