5F is searching for a Financial Controller to join the team. This role will oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and effective management of the company’s financial resources. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial planning, construction industry accounting practices, and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities- Overseeing and managing the financial activities of the organization
- Review finances regularly to manage risk
- Manage and continue to develop accounting procedures
- Lead and manage external CPA for financial statements, taxes, compliances, etc....
- Manage and develop existing 5F staff for payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Lead tax strategy planning with help from outside parties
- Participate in monthly job cost
- Participate in strategy and planning meeting to develop and grow the business
- Support, solicit, and maintain company corporate plans (401K, Company Insurances and Health Insurance Programs)
- Other duties as assigned
- Conducts and attends job meetings according to customer and company guidelines and schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA designation preferred)
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a Financial Controller or similar role in the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction accounting, including job costing, WIP (work-in-progress) reporting, and percentage of completion methods
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating, and fiscal management principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Acumatica, or similar)
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Must be able to pass extensive background check and drug test
Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
This is a full-time position based in Elgin, Texas with travel to jobsite locations as required
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
