A leading Electronics Manufacturing Services Company is seeking a Controller to guide financial operations during a period of significant expansion. This role requires a professional with deep expertise in manufacturing cost accounting, strong operational acumen, and the ability to evolve existing financial processes into scalable, efficient systems.
Core Responsibilities- Work closely with the CEO and executive team to align financial strategy with organizational growth objectives, capital requirements, and operational capabilities.
- Develop financial models to assess expansion initiatives including capacity increases, automation investments, and new customer integrations.
- Advise on pricing strategies, contract structures, and cost frameworks.
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, cost accounting, inventory management, and revenue recognition.
- Enhance ERP and financial reporting systems to support higher transaction volumes and increased complexity.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual workflows to improve accuracy and reduce processing time.
- Maintain, refine, and reconcile standard costing for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Evaluate profitability by product line, customer, and contract; present actionable recommendations to strengthen margins.
- Lead initiatives across departments to reduce scrap, rework, and other non-value-added costs.
- Drive the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts, ensuring cross-functional alignment across sales, operations, and capital planning.
- Deliver monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor key financial indicators to proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Maintain precise cash flow forecasts and ensure sufficient liquidity to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
- Improve DSO and collection performance through disciplined AR management.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize inventory levels while maintaining service requirements.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all relevant regulatory standards.
- Lead annual financial audits and tax activities in partnership with auditors and tax firms.
- Establish and maintain scalable internal controls that support a growing business.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
- 5-10+ years of Controller experience including at least 3 years in manufacturing (experience in contract manufacturing or electronics assembly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to support organizational growth and scale financial operations.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP/manufacturing systems and cost accounting methodologies.
- Experience with Syteline ERP or Cetec software experience is preferred.
