Overview

JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Director Finance - CUC is responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial activities, ensuring accuracy, maintaining internal controls, and managing accounting teams. This role partners with operational leaders to support short-term strategy, budget compliance, and financial performance across ambulatory services and related entities.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Oversee preparation of financial statements, cash flow reports, and projections to support data-driven decisions
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for executives and stakeholders
  • Analyze financial trends to identify improvement opportunities and cost-saving measures
  • Track KPIs and present actionable recommendations to enhance financial efficiency
  • Develop and maintain reporting frameworks for leadership to evaluate operational performance across locations and service lines
  • Keep abreast of government regulatory requirements and the changing reimbursement environment to develop and implement changes to policies and procedures as needed
  • Establish and maintain sound financial controls and record keeping in compliance with non-profit and grant funding requirements
  • Work with key stakeholders on financial performance, justifications for budget variances and operational plans for improving performance
  • Coordinate with CFO to ensure alignment with budget, key organizational strategies and goals
  • Assist in the development of new business by analyzing the feasibility of new programs, including managed care contracts, alternative payment models and advise senior leadership of financial prospects
  • Ensure accurate capture and reporting on all grant funded programs and in alignment with HRSA 330 Program requirements
  • Perform additional duties of similar complexity within the organization, as required or assigned
  • Directly supervise the CUC Controller, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and supporting staff

Required Education
  • Bachelor's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university
  • Master's Degree (higher degree accepted) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration from an accredited college or university (required)
Required Experience
  • 8 years progressive financial healthcare experience in the areas of general accounting; operations; financial systems; financial statement preparation; review and analysis; and multi-discipline management experience (required)
  • 3 years of supervisory experience (required)
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) finance department
  • Demonstrated experience working with physician payment models within a medical group
  • Experience working in a complex organization (e.g. multiple locations and business units) and working for a nonprofit organization that receives federal funds
