Senior Accountant – Hybrid (2 Days In-Office / 3 Days Remote) – Multibillion AUM Private Equity Firm – Austin, TX
I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant role with one of our top private equity clients, a multi-billion AUM firm based in Austin, TX. This is a full-time position on the management company accounting team, offering a true hybrid schedule (2 days in-office, 3 days from home) and close partnership with senior finance leadership.
The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Finance Team, responsible for recording transactions and supporting accurate, timely financial reporting for the management company.
What You’ll Do:- Support the daily, monthly, and year-end accounting operations for the management company
- Own the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including processing and maintaining AP/AR transactions
- Analyze and recommend allocation methodologies for new vendors in line with governing documents
- Prepare and maintain expense allocations across company entities
- Partner with the Director of Finance on the close process and preparation of financial statements for the management company
- Assist the Director of Finance with process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the implementation of the firm’s new expense reporting solution
- Review employee expense reports and collaborate with Executive Assistants to ensure accuracy
- Record banking transactions and prepare monthly bank reconciliations for the management company
- Record credit card transactions and prepare monthly credit card reconciliations
- Track line of credit balances, including calculating and recording interest and fees
- Record expense allocations and inter-company transactions
- Partner with the FP&A Manager on cash forecasting
- Track management fee collections
- Assist with tracking and recording tax payments
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, record retention, and other accounting-related duties
- Support other ad hoc accounting and finance projects as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, ideally a blend of public accounting and industry
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and consistent process orientation
- Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment working with cross-functional stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with peers and supervisors
- Understanding of the private equity industry and management company accounting
- Extensive experience with Quick Books (or other accounting software), , Flo Qast, Concur, and Expensify
- Experience with system implementations
- Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel
