What You’ll Be DoingAs a Relationship Manager, you’ll focus on growing direct revenue, retaining high-net-worth client relationships, and expanding business within your portfolio. You’ll align with clients’ sophisticated financial needs, investment objectives, and the organization’s strategy—while actively growing your client base through networking, community involvement, and exceptional relationship management.
How You’ll Succeed- Manage client relationships: Oversee a portfolio of high-net-worth clients to ensure strong retention and continued business growth, while aligning with investment objectives and firm policies.
- Expand your portfolio: Acquire new clients with complex financial needs through strategic business development activities and close collaboration with Business Development Officers.
- Drive profitability: Achieve revenue goals, manage expenses, and monitor overall profit performance—taking timely action when needed.
- Deliver exceptional service: Foster a high-touch service culture by leveraging your expertise in investment and wealth advisory services to deliver tailored client solutions.
- Engage in client events: Participate in client events to deepen relationships and support new business development efforts.
- Collaborate effectively: Partner across internal teams to provide a seamless, professional, and timely client experience.
- Ensure compliance: Implement and maintain strong operational and compliance risk controls across all activities.
- Educational background: You hold a bachelor’s degree (required), and advanced certifications such as MBA, CFA, CPA, or CFP are preferred.
- Wealth management expertise: You bring 8+ years of experience in portfolio management, wealth management, personal tax, or financial planning.
- Investment knowledge: You have a strong understanding of investment products and strategies designed for sophisticated, high-net-worth clients.
- Financially savvy: You’re skilled in financial analysis and can offer expert advice on complex, high-value relationships.
- Relationship builder: You excel at cultivating lasting client relationships and delivering tailored recommendations that inspire trust and action.
- Confident communicator: You’re comfortable presenting to both small groups and large audiences, with excellent written skills for crafting professional proposals and presentations.
- Strategic negotiator: You use advanced negotiation and influencing skills to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Service-oriented: You act with professionalism and sound judgment, always keeping the client’s success in focus.
- Risk aware: You maintain a strong understanding of operational, regulatory, and compliance-related requirements.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150, for the Austin, TX market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
