Job Title: BIN/BaaS Operations Specialist
Location: Austin, Texas / in office 3-4 days per week
Austin Capital Bank is a rapidly growing fintech bank focused on innovation in banking services.
The RoleWe’re looking for a BIN/BaaS Operations Specialist to own the daily reconciliation and financial oversight of our fintech partner accounts. You’ll be responsible for reconciling FBO, operational, and card settlement accounts across multiple partner programs — ensuring that every dollar moving between fintech ledgers and the banking core is accounted for and explainable.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, data, and partner operations. You’ll need to deeply understand each partner’s business model, funds flow, and integration architecture — then use that knowledge to build reconciliation workflows, surface discrepancies, and support revenue forecasting. If you thrive on making sense of complex data, working independently, and building processes from the ground up, this role is for you.
WhatYou’ll Do Reconciliation & Account Oversight
- Own daily reconciliation of FBO accounts, operational accounts, and card settlement accounts for each BIN/BaaS fintech partner.
- Reconcile internal fintech partner ledgers against the banking core, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain fully automated or semi-automated reconciliation workflows to reduce manual effort and increase accuracy.
- Monitor settlement activity and ensure funds flows are processed correctly across all partner programs.
- Learn the operations, business model, and funds flow of each BIN/BaaS partner relationship end to end.
- Understand the technical integration between each fintech partner and the bank, including data exchange, API connections, and file-based reporting.
- Work directly with fintech partners to define, build, and deliver their daily and monthly required operational and regulatory reports.
- Serve as a knowledgeable operational point of contact for partner inquiries related to settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with IT and the Analytics team to retrieve partner data and integrate reports into our Snowflake data warehouse.
- Analyze reconciliation data to identify trends, anomalies, and gaps that require investigation or process improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (required).
- 2–4 years of experience in BIN sponsorship, BaaS operations, card program management, or fintech partner operations.
- Strong understanding of FBO account structures, card settlement processes, and bank‑fintech funds flows.
- Experience with reconciliation processes — ideally building or improving automated workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work through complex, multi‑source data sets.
- Comfort working with data tools and platforms; experience with Snowflake, SQL, or similar analytics environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with banking core systems (e.g., Jack Henry, Fiserv) and how fintech integrations connect to them.
- Self‑directed and independent — you take ownership of your work and don’t need to be managed closely.
- Initiative‑driven with a willingness to learn new systems, partners, and processes as the program grows.
- Strong attention to detail and a mindset oriented toward accuracy, auditability, and continuous improvement.
- Experience working with card networks (Visa, Mastercard) on settlement and clearing processes.
- Knowledge of BSA/AML, NACHA, and FDIC regulatory requirements as they apply to BaaS programs.
- Background in GL accounting, journal entries, or financial reporting within a bank environment.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Thought Spot, Tableau, or similar) for operational reporting.
- Be part of a growing BIN/BaaS program with direct exposure to multiple fintech partnerships and business models.
- High‑impact, high‑autonomy role — you’ll build the reconciliation and reporting infrastructure, not just maintain it.
- Work at the intersection of banking, fintech, and data — gaining experience that’s increasingly valuable across the industry.
- Collaborative team culture with room to grow into senior operations, finance, or partner management roles.
