Position Summary
Assistant Controller responsible for managing the Accounts Payable and General Ledger functions, collaborating with the Accounting Manager on Accounts Receivable and Time & Billing functions, performing review of financial statements, and managing month‑end and annual close processes.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage AP and GL staff and workflows
- Oversee month‑end and annual closing, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Conduct initial review of monthly financial statements for accuracy and completeness
- Improve processes for financial statement and accounts payable procedures
- Implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls; evaluate and streamline for efficiency and compliance
- Review fixed‑assets depreciation and capitalization schedules
- Manage cash and treasury activities: weekly cash flow forecasting, bank activity monitoring, payment processing
- Perform final review of vendor invoice payments and credit card reconciliations
- Ensure AP team adheres to vendor contract terms
- Maintain ERP system updates and support software/process improvement initiatives
- Assist with ad‑hoc duties and projects as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7–10 years of progressively responsible accounting or finance experience, including 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- CPA license and experience in a professional services firm
- Strong analytical skills with ability to gather information, conduct analyses, present findings, and create solutions
- Understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure
- Superior organizational and follow‑through skills, accurate and detail oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize a fast‑paced workload, and manage shifting priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and accounting software systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong leadership and management capabilities

Compensation$113,000–$152,000, depending on experience. Additional compensation possible for highly experienced candidates.
