This temporary assignment may be filled at any time and could transition to a regular status. The projected end date for this assignment is October 31 2026.
PurposeThis position is responsible for managing and overseeing complex accounting activities for Texas Global, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and applying advanced accounting knowledge to prepare financial statements and special reports while exercising independent judgment.
Responsibilities- Manage and process a variety of financial transactions for Texas Global programs, including invoices, reimbursements, credit card payments, travel cash advance, and scholarships, while ensuring compliance with University accounting policies and procedures.
- Reconcile accounts in the DEFINE accounting system, maintain financial ledgers, prepare financial reports, resolve payment and billing issues with vendors and departments, support student financial activities, and assist with budgeting, financial analysis and other special projects.
- High school diploma or GED. At least four years of governmental or commercial accounting experience.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, strong work ethic, superb interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to handle multiple tasks, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, adjust to fluctuating priorities.
- Ability to problem‑solve and research financial inquiries, work independently and as part of a team, exercise sound judgment, be tactful and diplomatic, and maintain confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.
- Certified Public Accountant.
- Five or more years of professional accounting or finance experience.
- Experience with planning, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience with financial administration at the University of Texas at Austin, including Workday, FRMS, DEFINE, budgeting activities, and reporting tools such as COGNOS and business intelligence packages.
- Experience working with students in a university setting.

Working Conditions- Attire:
Business Casual. - Standard office environment requiring manual dexterity and repetitive keyboard use.

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
