Regulatory Compliance Specialist

Responsibilities- Provide subject matter expertise on federal, state, and ISO regulatory compliance requirements, including rules, tariffs, business practice manuals, and operating procedures established for and by FERC, ERCOT, PJM, SPP, MISO and state utilities regulators
- Support other trade compliance activities such as third party vetting, due diligence and regulatory filings
- Assist in the development and implementation of global company compliance programs, reviews, and initiatives, including compliance policies, processes and training
- Facilitate occasional risk assessments and monitoring of the trade compliance program
- Keep informed of and advise on new laws, regulations, and industry trends
- Take on any additional special projects and support other compliance program initiatives as necessary
- Minimum of 5 years of regulatory compliance experience in energy commodities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to precisely draft documents, policies, and guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Detail oriented, organized, and effectively able to manage multiple matters while balancing competing deadlines
- Capable of working independently and across multiple departments
- Experience partnering with compliance departments to support the design, implementation and administration of trade compliance programs
- Experience handling commercial matters related to power trading
- Experience in regulatory areas beyond trading activities, such as Anti-Money Laundering
