International Services is a diverse and multi-faceted organization. We are the international center of excellence for the firm across Investor Services, Advisor Services, Stock Plan Services and more. We are dedicated to empowering investors residing inside and outside of the United States with the education and tools to trade globally.

International Financial Consultants manage a practice of high‑net‑worth international clients located in their assigned region. The Asia Pacific region includes China, Taiwan, Australia and Malaysia. Consultants are expected to manage a large group of assigned client households while simultaneously developing new and existing relationships within their region through proactive and regular business development activities. Expected activities include developing deep relationships with practice clients to reduce attrition risk, encouraging asset consolidation, introducing advisory services and building a referral network.

This is a proactive‑client‑contact role where a high number of activities and unique contacts each day are critical to meeting the performance expectations and high practice penetration.

Additional Role Responsibilities
  • As a regional Financial Consultant, you will be the dedicated relationship point of contact for your assigned clients. In this role you will help the practice clients navigate the US markets, identify their financial goals and find the appropriate products and services through Schwab.
  • Because your clients are located across multiple jurisdictions over a large geographic area, most contact will be via phone or video meetings. Understanding the unique needs of these jurisdictions is critical and will require flexibility in scheduling client meetings, outbound calling and practice engagement time. It will be common practice to start the day early or late to meet client preferred contact times.
  • You will manage a large client practice. Contacting clients to understand their needs and preferences is key to success and maintaining expected practice penetration levels. You will also grow your active practice through ongoing proactive business development, building trust and earning a strong referral network.

In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.

  • 5+ years of direct international client experience and an equivalent level of securities industry knowledge
  • 3+ years of experience introducing advisory products and services to international clients (e.g., SAN, SWA, MAS)
  • Extensive knowledge of jurisdictional nuances, tax impacts, foreign regulatory impacts, product availability and servicing non‑US customers
  • Ability to organize and structure your day, including block‑scheduling to ensure unique phone‑based contact each day for lead follow‑up and practice contact
  • Expertise in identifying client needs, building trust‑based relationships, displaying client empathy and superior relationship management
  • Ability to manage a large book of clients through high client contact and engagement
