The firm maintains offices across North America and serves a wide range of industries, including technology, healthcare, aerospace, consumer markets, manufacturing, energy, financial services, and transportation, among many others.
Position SummaryThe firm is seeking a highly driven Investment Banking Director (Generalist) with proven originating capabilities and deep middle‑market relationships. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and can spearhead transaction origination across their industry.
Key Responsibilities Origination & Business Development- Source new M&A, capital raising, and advisory opportunities across their industry
- Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, private equity firms, lenders, attorneys, accountants, and other referral partners
- Lead pitch development and present strategic recommendations to prospective clients
- Serve as the primary client point of contact on engagements
- Oversee execution of buy‑side, sell‑side, and capital raise transactions
- Manage communications and negotiations with counter parties, investors, and transaction stakeholders
- Coordinate due diligence, data room management, and deal process workflow
- Guide and review financial modeling, valuation analyses, and strategic assessments
- Oversee junior team members and ensure high‑quality deliverables
- Drive process discipline to ensure timely execution and client satisfaction
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, market positioning, and internal practice growth
- Serve as a mentor and leader within the team, supporting talent development
- 8‑15+ years of investment banking, financial advisory, private equity, or related transactional experience
- Demonstrated track record of deal origination and ability to bring in new engagements
- Strong network within middle‑market business owners, PE firms, lenders, or professional services firms
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and client‑facing skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong understanding of financial modeling, valuation, capital markets, and deal structuring
- FINRA licensing (Series 7 & 79) preferred or willingness to obtain
