This role involves developing power and ancillary services trading strategies within the dynamic ERCOT market to achieve optimal market value. - Analyze energy and ancillary service markets, interpreting market data for the development of trading and origination strategies to mitigate exposure of price fluctuations and other market risks.
- Record trades within the trade capture system to ensure accuracy and support effective reporting and compliance procedures.
- Collaborate with internal teams, supporting decision‑making in origination, regulatory, and development.
- Mark the daily forward curve, allowing for informed decision‑making and strategic planning.
- Understand market dynamics, supply and demand factors, and potential regulatory impacts to optimize trading strategies and minimize risks.
- Six or more years of experience in power or gas trading, power or gas marketing, energy forecasting analysis, energy structure analysis, financial risk management, or energy risk management or other relevant experience.
- A degree(s) in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree(s) in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, engineering or relevant field.
- Experience in analyzing and trading within the ERCOT market.
- Experience adhering to compliance with risk management policies and procedures.
- Advanced understanding of energy market dynamics and trading strategies.
