Navigating the current market environment requires innovation and stewardship of the right investments to impact the lives of members and all Texans.
The team manages a global portfolio of over $225 billion in public and private investments.
- Conduct due diligence on potential private equity investment opportunities and support ongoing monitoring and reporting of the investment portfolio.
- Perform investment analysis, build financial models (including LBOs), evaluate valuation, risks, returns, and terms of Private Equity and Venture Capital transactions.
- Prepare qualitative and quantitative reports, memoranda, and presentations for the team and senior leadership.
- Collaborate with the Private Equity Team and IMD staff; report to a Private Equity Director.
- Coordinate with teammates, investment accounting, legal counsel, custodians, and third-party advisors.
- Develop and maintain relationships within the investment industry to identify opportunities.
- Utilize TRS portfolio systems such as Deal Cloud and PowerBI.
- Required Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, engineering, math, sciences, information technology, liberal arts or related field. - Required Experience
:
At least 1 year of full-time experience in professional private equity investment activities involving data analysis, financial modeling, and investment evaluation (e.g., investment banking, consulting, or corporate development). Master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience. - Preferred Qualifications
: 1 to 2 years of full-time professional PE investment experience or related experience with strong data analysis and financial modeling skills. - Knowledge
:
Private equity valuation metrics; investment concepts, terminology, models, and fundamental investment factors; statistics as applied to investments; corporate valuation metrics and techniques. - Skills
:
Financial modeling and valuation, Windows-based software proficiency, data search and analysis, preparing concise reports and recommendations, planning and prioritizing in a fast-paced environment, clear written and verbal communication. - Ability
:
Establish and maintain professional relationships, work effectively in a team, and travel for business as needed.
