General FunctionThe Person al Banker II position provides an exceptional customer experience by building and maintaining long lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. They help customers understand and address their financial needs and provide solutions that span across the customer's lifecycle using a consultative sales and service process.
Responsible and accountable for risk, openly exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures. Always do the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensuring a positive customer experience. Within the bank’s risk appetite, achieve results by identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting all types of risk.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach (in person, over the phone, or other channels).
- Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs, tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice.
- Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
- Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and problems are resolved.
- Analyze customer credit data and other related financial information to ensure customers are in appropriate solutions that align with their needs.
- Provide customer support reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
- Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling ethical behavior expected of all employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- High School Diploma/GED and 1 year customer service experience, or college degree or equivalent military experience.
- Experience in a sales environment required; financial industry experience a plus.
- Ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
- Proficient verbal and written communication representing Fifth Third Bank.
- Capable of analyzing credit and financial information.
- Exhibits business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions.
- Requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). NMLS website provides MU4R questions and registration.
- Normal office environment.
- Extended viewing of computer screens.
- Periodic travel within the Bancorp footprint to attend meetings and/or training.
