Public Company - Permanent Tax Manager Needed! Great pay + benefits

Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 per year

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Tax Manager to join our fast-paced and innovative Energy firm. This key role will be responsible for managing all aspects of our company's tax functions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, and developing strategies to minimize our tax liabilities. The successful candidate will be a part of our finance department, working closely with the CFO and other senior management to provide strategic tax guidance.

As our Tax Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing and managing the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and quarterly tax provisions.
• Ensuring the company's compliance with all tax regulations by keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and advising management on the tax impact of business decisions.
• Coordinating audits with tax authorities and managing audit defense strategies.
• Leading and coordinating tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow.
• Assisting with financial forecasting and budgeting processes from a tax perspective.
• Managing relationships with external tax consultants and auditors.
• Providing guidance and support to junior staff members in the tax department.

The ideal candidate for our Permanent Tax Manager position will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience in a public accounting firm or a large corporation. Experience in the engineering industry is a plus.
• CPA certification is required.
• Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of tax provision preparation and review.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex tax laws and regulations.
• Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
