The Role

The Assistant Director of Finance supports the financial operations of the hotel by assisting with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, internal controls, audits, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance with company and brand standards. This role helps ensure accurate financial management while supporting operational departments in achieving business goals and profitability targets.

Financial Management & Reporting
  • Monitor daily revenue, expenses, labor costs, and cash flow.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement.
  • Support preparation of ownership and corporate reporting packages.
Accounting Operations
  • Supports accounts payable, accounts receivable, income audit, and general cashier functions.
  • Ensure proper reconciliation of bank accounts, balance sheets, and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, financial procedures, and audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard hotel assets.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Supervise and mentor accounting and finance team members.
  • Assist in training staff on financial systems, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Foster a collaborative and service‑oriented work environment.

Qualifications Experience Required
  • 3-5 years of finance career progression; preferred experience in hospitality, retail, or a related industry.
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality, Business or a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
