As an Underwriting Analyst
, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing creditworthiness, ensuring sound lending decisions, and minimizing risk exposure. This role demands a keen eye for detail, a comprehensive understanding of credit evaluation processes, and balanced judgment.
We value in-person connection and have offices in both Palo Alto, CA and Austin, TX. While we welcome candidates from either location, we have a preference for candidates based in Austin to support occasional in-person collaboration. We are also open to remote team members who can travel periodically as needed.

- Assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants by analyzing financial data, credit reports, and other relevant information.
- Determine the risk level associated with lending and make informed decisions based on established criteria.
- Evaluate exceptions to credit policy carefully and make recommendations to the leadership team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline the underwriting process and ensure timely completion of applications.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing customers to evaluate credit limit changes and recommend appropriate changes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear explanations of underwriting decisions and assisting in resolving inquiries.
- Prior experience in either consumer or small business underwriting.
- Basic understanding of Excel and other data entry platforms.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiar with fast-paced environments with an “all hands on deck” approach.
- Strong written, oral communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for this role is $68,000 - $90,000. This information reflects a base salary range for this position based on current market data, which may be subject to change as new market data becomes available. The candidate's skills, experience, and other relevant factors will determine the exact compensation.
