Duties
Develop and implement comprehensive Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) for each of VA's audit-related material weaknesses and significant deficiencies, in consultation and coordination with VA's three Administrations and applicable staff offices.
Develop and implement department wide financial policy to ensure compliance with current laws and regulations.
Assist applicable program offices in establishing uniform standards and procedures to be used throughout the Department to strengthen programs and improve consistency of interpretation and application of stated policies and procedures.
Assist the Department in developing audit readiness plans, procedures, and time-lines associated with the preparation and audit of VA's quarterly and annual financial statements.
Lead audit liaison activities in preparation for, and during the actual audit of VA's quarterly and annual financial statement audits.
