Job Title: Director of Corporate Finance

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $111,111 to $171,111

Skills: Director of Corporate Finance, FP&A, Financial Modeling, Investor Relations, PowerBI, Oil & Gas

About the Opportunity

My client, one of the fastest growing energy companies in the country, is looking to hire a Director of Corporate Finance. This is a rare seat at the table where they will work directly with the CFO and executive leadership, shaping capital strategy and translating complex financial data into decisions that move the business forward. Someone who wants real ownership over how a growing company thinks about money, not just reports on it, will thrive here.

This is a strategy and leadership role, not a processing seat. The person who takes this on will be hands‑on with fundraising, investor communication, and financial modeling that directly informs how leadership allocates capital. It is built for someone who wants autonomy, values speed, and is ready to grow their own function as the business scales.

Responsibilities
  • Own the financial modeling and analysis that supports fundraising conversations and capital allocation decisions, working directly alongside the executive team.
  • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning, turning raw numbers into a roadmap leadership can act on.
  • Build and present the dashboards and KPIs that shape how the company measures itself and where it invests next.
  • Mentor and develop other finance team members, setting the tone for accuracy and rigor as the function grows.
  • Drive variance analysis and cost optimization work across business units, flagging trends before they become problems.
  • Partner across legal, engineering, and technical teams to keep financial data clean and aligned company wide.
  • Support close processes, audit readiness, and external reporting to stakeholders including government agencies.
Must‑Have Skills
  • 5+ years of FP&A experience, including 2+ years at a Senior Manager or Director level
  • Experience in private equity, venture capital, or direct investor engagement
  • Strong proficiency in PowerBI with exceptional financial modeling and dashboard skills
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
  • Background in oil and gas or broader energy, with exposure to midstream, downstream, and upstream operations
  • CPA or CFA designation
  • Background in a start‑up or investment bank
