Commercial Relationship Manager

Provides commercial lending activities, in compliance with Southside Bank's policies and procedures. Generates new commercial customer relationships as well as maintains existing commercial customer base.

Essential functions include commercial customer development, marketing bank products and services, customer deposit and check approval, attendance at Director's Loan Committee and Asset/Liability Committee meetings, commercial real estate lending, light consumer lending, investment and working capital lending, bank networking, representing the bank in public, social, and civic gatherings, continuing education classes/seminars, community engagement for personal mortgages, supervising support staff, providing leadership, maintaining positive relationships, attending various meetings outside of the bank, maintaining confidentiality, providing enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service, participating in team efforts, understanding and abiding by bank policies and procedures, complying with audit policies and procedures, performing duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and complying with all applicable laws and regulations.

Additional functions include complying with safety policies, performing additional duties as assigned or directed.

Required education/experience includes a bachelor's degree in finance, business, or another applicable field, minimum of three to five years of direct lending or credit analyst related experience with a focus on commercial/business relationships, extensive knowledge of the commercial banking industry products and services offered, adequately trained and working knowledge of credit and underwriting experience, sales experience, familiar with loan processing and closing procedures, and postgraduate banking certificate/training, preferred.

Necessary skills include ability to build and enhance customer relationships, excellent interpersonal, communication, and business relationship skills, ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations, ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public, ability to calculate figures and amounts, ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables, proficient personal computer skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, ability to prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.

Physical activity/dexterity includes manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers, works with fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.

Physical environment demands include ability to remain in a stationary position 40% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office, constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, frequently communicate with other people throughout each day.

Working conditions/environment include well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation, moderate noise.

Work schedule/hours include Monday through Friday; 8:00am – 5:00pm, available for overtime, as needed.
