Loan Processor – (Austin, TX | On-Site)

At Texas DPS Credit Union, we do more than provide loans. We serve those who serve others, including the employees and families of the Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Police Association, and Texas Sheriffs Association.

We are here to educate our members about money matters, enhance their experience, and empower them to make decisions that put them in the best possible financial position. This vision drives our leadership team and employees in every action we take.

We seek individuals who are enthusiastic about helping drive our vision and who exemplify our core values of Authenticity, Excellence, Integrity, Outstanding Service, and Unity. If you are looking to make an impact while working alongside a close-knit team, we would like to connect.

What you will do as the Loan Processor

As a Loan Processor, you will be the detail-driven operational partner who helps approved loans move smoothly from acceptance to closing and funding. You will verify conditions and documentation, prepare accurate loan and collateral documents, coordinate signatures and disbursement, protect the credit union’s lien position, and complete post-closing quality review. This is not a sales or credit decision role; it is a critical control position for someone who takes pride in getting every detail right while keeping members and internal teams informed.

  • Review processing-ready loan files for completeness, accuracy, and satisfied approval conditions
  • Obtain and validate income, identity, purchase, payoff, insurance, collateral, and other required documents
  • Prepare accurate loan agreements, disclosures, security instruments, and ancillary-product documents
  • Verify loan terms, fees, payment dates, borrower information, collateral details, and disbursement instructions
  • Coordinate signatures, closing activities, funding, and disbursement within established controls
  • Manage title, lien-perfection, insurance, and post-closing follow-up requirements
  • Perform pre-funding and post-closing quality-control reviews
  • Communicate clearly with members, Loan Specialists, vendors, dealers, and internal teams
  • Identify discrepancies, fraud indicators, or policy concerns and elevate them promptly
  • Maintain accurate LOS notes, tracking, and electronic loan files
This position suits you if
  • You notice small details that others may miss and take pride in accurate work
  • You enjoy organizing documents, deadlines, and moving parts into a clean, completed file
  • You can interpret instructions and approval conditions without making assumptions outside your authority
  • You communicate clearly and professionally when information is missing or a deadline is at risk
  • You are comfortable stopping a closing or funding when required controls are not satisfied
  • You enjoy technology, process improvement, and creating an efficient workflow
  • You thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Consumer loan processing, lending operations, or financial services experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through

Working knowledge of loan documents, collateral, titles, liens, and funding processes
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies, solve routine problems, and elevate appropriately
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple systems, deadlines, and competing priorities
  • Credit union or banking experience and LOS experience preferred
  • Commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and operational accuracy
Core Competencies
  • Processing Accuracy & Quality Control
  • Loan Documentation & Closing
  • Collateral & Lien Administration
  • Condition Management
  • Risk Awareness & Escalation
  • Organization & Pipeline Management
  • Communication (Verbal & Written)
  • Problem Solving & Sound Judgment
  • Compliance & Confidentiality
  • Teamwork & Collaboration
Why work at Texas DPS Credit Union?
  • Competitive total compensation aligned with experience
  • Comprehensive employer-sponsored benefits package
  • 401(k) with company match and company-paid pension plan
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development and learning opportunities
  • A team-oriented culture with regular engagement activities
  • On-site wellness amenities and an employee-focused work environment
