The Economic Analyst will perform economic and financial research to support business valuation, IP litigation, and forensic accounting engagements. This full-time, on-site role in Austin, TX involves collecting and analyzing market, industry, and company data; building financial and statistical models; and preparing clear, well-supported written reports and presentations. The Economic Analyst will work closely with senior team members to assess damages, evaluate licensing strategies, and interpret economic trends relevant to client matters.
Day-to-day tasks include working with large datasets, drafting analytical memos, supporting expert testimony preparation, and contributing to client deliverables under tight deadlines.
- Strong economic research capabilities, including experience with data collection, literature review, and industry analysis.
- Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in quantitative methods, statistics, and data interpretation.
- Solid understanding of finance, including financial statements, valuation concepts, and corporate finance fundamentals.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex economic and financial findings in clear written and verbal formats.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Proficiency with analytical and statistical tools (e.g., Excel, R, Stata, Python, or similar software) and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively on-site in Austin, TX, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a professional services environment.
- Prior experience in litigation support, consulting, or financial analysis is beneficial; interest in IP, forensic accounting, or business valuation is a plus.
