Overview

At Together Work, we set a high bar for clarity, collaboration, and execution. While our Product & Strategy leaders own portfolio outcomes, our individual contributors are equally essential, bringing curiosity, precision, and a commitment to excellence to every initiative. We work in deep partnership with Engineering, Revenue, CX, Operations, and Support, sharing accountability for delivering stable, modern, insight-driven products that help our customers thrive.

Financial functionality carries a different standard of accuracy than the rest of our product surface. Customers rely on it to keep their books clean, trace every transaction, reconcile against their bank, and file taxes with confidence. That level of trust is the bar this role protects, and it shapes how the work gets prioritized, tested, and shipped.

What makes this product hard is who operates it. The person handling the accounting is often a volunteer, elected to a one-year term, with no formal finance background and a successor waiting behind them. They are managing real money that belongs to other people, and they answer to a governing body that expects clean, consistent reporting. That constraint is not something onboarding or documentation can solve.

Correctness has to be designed in, so the right outcome is the default path rather than something the user has to know how to find.

We expect team members to bring strong analytical thinking, operational rigor, and real fluency with generative AI and modern product tooling. Hard work is the norm, not for recognition, but for the greater good of our customers and the long-term health of our company.

This role reflects those expectations: financially literate, technically credible, customer-centered, and grounded in professionalism and positive intent.

Role Summary

The Senior Product Manager, Financial Products owns the end-to-end financial experience for a platform that serves member-driven organizations and the national bodies that govern them. That scope runs from money in to money out and everything the treasurer has to reconcile in between: dues billing and collection, member ledgers and balances, payment plans and delinquency, card and ACH processing, fundraising, budgeting and forecasting, bank account connectivity, expense tracking and reimbursement, tax filing support, and reporting up to the governing organization.

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role for someone with a genuine accounting foundation, not a product manager who has picked up finance vocabulary along the way. The person in this seat can read a budget-versus-actual report, explain why a bank reconciliation is out of balance, and understand what a tax-exempt organization is actually obligated to file and when.

The distinguishing requirement is the ability to hold both halves at once: accounting rigor and radical simplicity. Our users are not accountants and will never become accountants. This role translates real financial discipline into a product that a first-time volunteer treasurer can operate correctly in their first week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the roadmap, requirements, and outcomes for the financial platform, including billing and dues, payments, member ledgers, budgeting, banking, expenses, and financial reporting.
  • Write clear, decision-ready requirements that specify financial behavior explicitly: what posts, when it posts,…
