This position is a member of our Air Permits Division.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Lead or participate in teams formed to develop and implement outreach programs, services, and activities for the regulated community and the public related to the air permitting process and other agency programs as directed.

Lead or participate in teams formed to develop and implement technical support programs, services, and activities related to professional development and training of Air Permits Division staff.

Oversee, track, and coordinate the scheduling of the required agency and division training registration for division staff, ensuring documents of necessary training are complete and submitted timely.

Oversee, track, and coordinate the responses to legislative, public, and media inquiries regarding air permits and/or air permitting policies, procedures, and rules.

Assist the Special Assistant and Deputy Director in overseeing high priority projects, bill coordination, the development of legislation for air permitting, and the air permitting public information request program.

Lead or participate in legislative support activities, including meetings or presentations with agency staff, and external customers; bill review, analysis and research, and liaising with the division Bill Coordinators and Analysts.

Communicate the applicability of federal and state requirements related to division and agency processes and programs to internal staff.

Coordinate and oversee other special projects, as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience analyzing legislation and/or responding to legislative requests.
  • Experience with project management, organizing reports, and tracking projects.
  • Experience communicating, written and verbally, with executive management.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus five years of full-time experience performing supervisory, managerial, professional or technical work which must include: analysis of work problems having an administrative aspect and interpretation of complex written material; or planning, organizing, and coordinating requirements for support services or program operations where a wide range of demands are involved, including interpretation of complex written material.

One year of full-time experience in an administrative capacity may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

OR

One year of graduate work (24 semester hours) in public administration, business administration, human resources administration, environmental resource management, planning, or in an area relevant to the position from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of required experience, with a maximum of two years substitution allowed.

* Administrative capacity is work where primary duties consist of performing administrative tasks of an office, excluding work such as clerical, secretarial, sales, equipment operations, and manual labor.
