E.15th Street, Austin, TX, but this position is available for anyone in the State of Texas to apply. This position is in our FDCM/Program Investigations Department.

WHO YOU ARE:You are an experienced investigator with strong writing skills who is a self-directed and intrinsically motivated adult learner. You communicate effectively and are capable of building relationships with our workforce boards and other divisions within TWC and the Office of Investigations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:The Investigator III performs complex (journey-level) investigative work. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:- Analyze issues/allegations to determine appropriate investigative approach.
- Prepare investigation plans; define scope and objective of investigations.
- Determine appropriate use of interviews and other investigative techniques.
- Maintain investigative objectivity and impartiality.
- Conduct thorough research, analyze data or information and draw evidence-based conclusions to support decision-making or reporting.
- Analyze available data relating to issues/allegations; apply knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, agency policies to draw logical conclusions.
- May train investigators, TWC staff, board staff, contractors, or others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- One year and six months of full-time experience performing auditing or investigating work; or unemployment insurance claims examiner tasks; or gathering of information, interviewing, counseling or in the instruction, demonstration, and interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise.
- Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
- Investigative experience.
- Knowledge of TWC programs, specifically Child Care.
- Excellent communication, verbal and written skills.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish speaker.
