Job Description
Intelligence is crucial to the security of our nation. By gathering information about an adversary’s intentions, strengths, vulnerabilities, and capabilities, the military can plan, prepare, and defend against potential attacks. As a Human Intelligence Collector in the Army National Guard, you will earn a security clearance and utilize your strategic, cognitive, and language skills to obtain Intel from both friendly and hostile sources.
Job Duties- Screen human intelligence sources and documents
- Debrief and interrogate human intelligence sources
- Participate in human intelligence operations
- Analyze and prepare intelligence reports
- Human Intelligence analysis
- Utilizing premier digital and analytical tools to gather information and create products for the Commander
- The ability to use sophisticated mapping tools, intelligence networks and systems to identify the evolving threat on the battlefield
- Ability to speak in foreign languages
- Gathering and analyzing information
- Ability to think, speak, and write clearly
- An outgoing personality
- Proficiency in reading maps and charts
More than any other branch of service, the Army National Guard offers a wide range of intelligence‑related positions. You’ll learn valuable job skills while earning a regular paycheck and qualifying for tuition assistance. Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training, 6 to 18 months of language training, and 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Completion can lead to additional college credit.

- Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate

Initial pay ranges from $200 to $250 per drill weekend. Additional monthly pay is available for maintaining language proficiency, ranging from $100 to $500 per month for the primary language, and up to $1,000 in total if proficient in additional languages.
