Job Overview
Shera Eichler Legislative Internship with Governmental Affairs and Initiatives at the University of Texas s role is open to undergraduate students from the University of Texas at Austin and offers 10–15 hours of work per week during the 90th Legislative Session (January 12, 2027–May 31, 2027). Interns will work in a legislative office at the Texas State Capitol, selecting their host from a pre‑approved list of legislators.
Responsibilities- Work in a legislative office for the duration of the legislative session.
- Provide support to office staff.
- Conduct policy research.
- Correspond with legislative staff to advance the agenda of the elected official.
One‑time payment of $4,400.
Working ConditionsStandard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Required Qualifications- Current undergraduate student at The University of Texas at Austin.
- Experience working in a professional environment.
- Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Punctual, reliable, responsible, and detail‑oriented.
