Position Overview
The Grant Compliance Analyst (Compliance Analyst III) reports to the Grant Compliance Lead Analyst for the Department of Grant Compliance and Administration. The Analyst performs compliance analysis involving examining, evaluating, and monitoring records, programs, policies, documents, and/or contracts to ensure conformity with laws, rules and regulations; and conducting inspection and analysis activities. The work is time-sensitive, including enforcement actions, corrective action plans, annual financial reports, non‑compliance resolution activities, and federal single audit management decision letters.
The Analyst performs highly complex (senior level) compliance analysis work under limited supervision, with latitude for independent judgment. Employees at this level may review contracts, grants and other legal documents and perform compliance reviews that are highly complex or large in scale, and may oversee others who perform compliance reviews, including coordinating assignments and monitoring activities.
Flexible work location within the state of Texas may be considered for qualified candidates.
Essential Functions- Federal Compliance Reviews: Reviews grant compliance reports, audit reports, compliance referrals, compliance determinations and other legal documents; conducts internal inspection of compliance issues.
- Department Tracking System: Maintains and assesses documentation of compliance activities such as complaints received or investigation outcomes; identifies issues regarding compliance with regulations or standards that require follow‑up.
- Federal Requirements Oversight and Compliance: Maintains and assesses compliance documentation; identifies issues regarding compliance with regulations or standards that require follow‑up.
- Develop Correspondence: Creates and manages compliance and ad‑hoc correspondence, including audit documentation and data files to satisfy federal auditors.
- Ad‑Hoc and Special Projects: Creates ad‑hoc and special projects as assigned, including but not limited to public information requests, complaints, data projects, investigations and other referrals.

Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university. - Experience:
At least three (3) years of experience in finance, accounting, fiscal management, auditor regulatory work. - Substitutions:
