TxDOT's Public Transportation Division's (PTN) Planning & Program Development Section is looking for a dynamic, self-motivated individual to help administer the Transportation Alternatives grant program for local government-sponsored bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and planning projects. As a Planner, you will work with a dynamic team to assist with grant program planning and administration, including training, technical assistance, and coordination with internal and external partners.

The top candidates must have strong organizational, multitasking, and project management skills and good interpersonal skills. TxDOT PTN works collaboratively across the state to advance multimodal policies and programs.

Planner III: B22 ($57,) Planner IV: B24 ($65,) This position is for Planner III or IV. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Performs complex planning and programming activities in support of management-related programs and/or transportation projects. Work requires contact with departmental managers, high-level executives, governmental/university officials and/or private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence. Essential Duties:
Planner III and IV:
Reviews and prepares correspondence, reports, studies, gives briefings and makes presentations regarding program activities. Conducts Program Development Meetings with sponsors to identify requirements, exchange information and keep informed on the status of projects. Coordinates planning projects involving districts, divisions, various public transportation interests, research endeavors with universities, other agencies…
