The City of Austin is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the Project Connect Mobility Officer position. This role reports to an Assistant City Manager.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in guiding major capital project delivery, overseeing program governance, and ensuring alignment with voter-approved investments and City of Austin strategic mobility goals.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
Education:
Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or
university in a field of public or business administration, government management, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Ten (10) years of experience in public administration and research, or construction management.
Facilitates, directs, plans, and coordinates with City departments and partner agencies; assigns projects and programmatic areas of responsibility as required.
Seeks and evaluates information from a variety of divisions, departments, and/or other entities; identifies and resolves issues.
Recommends and coordinates implementation of project management and process improvements that affect a variety of divisions, departments, and/or agencies that address new or systemic issues or inefficiencies.
Ensures effective coordination and communication with City departments and partner agency staff, neighborhood associations, the general public, media, consultants, public agencies, or private sector representatives.
Consults with City management to ensure program, projects, and associated activities are planned and implemented in accordance with guidelines and procedures.
Acts as official representative and liaison for the Project Connect program to other City departments, Austin City Manager’s Office, elected officials, outside agencies, the general public, and others; explains, justifies, and defends programs, procedures, and activities; and negotiates and resolves sensitive, significant, and controversial issues.
Performs research; participates in the development of reports, special project status reports, and feasibility reports; and makes presentations as required.
