Emergency Crisis Mgmt / Disaster Relief, IT Specialist
The incumbent provides advice and recommendations on sensitive issues related to policies, processes and procedures as they pertain to Connectivity and Collaboration wide monitoring, incident, problem and event management, emergency preparedness and continuity of operations. This position requires demonstrated knowledge of business processes, risk management, emergency preparedness, and incident response.

You must meet both the Basic Requirement and the Specialized Experience to qualify for this series as described below.
Basic Requirement - Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR):Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

EXPERIENCE:
At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position.
Specialized experience is defined as: Leading or supervising a team of IT specialists responsible for deploying and sustaining resilient communications capabilities (e.g., cellular, satellite, or other emerging transport technologies) in support of emergency, contingency, or crisis response operations; coordinating rapid-response IT logistics and personnel deployment during disasters, outages, or continuity-of-operations (COOP) events to restore or maintain critical network connectivity; developing, implementing, or overseeing emergency preparedness plans, incident response procedures, or continuity-of-operations protocols for an IT or telecommunications organization;
and providing technical advice and recommendations to senior leadership on emergency communications readiness, risk mitigation, and resource allocation during time-critical incidents.
