The Staff Pharmacist ensures accurate, timely medication delivery while leading a team focused on patient care and safety. This role supports Empower’s mission to improve lives through innovative, affordable medications and a commitment to excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities- Performs final verification of prescription orders with accuracy and ensures timely delivery of medications to patients.
- Leads a team of technicians to meet performance metrics and maintain a high standard of operational efficiency.
- Provides counseling to patients on medication use and collaborates with prescribing practitioners to ensure safe and effective therapies.
- Reviews medication orders for appropriateness and compliance with state and federal regulations, including those of the State Board of Pharmacy, Drug Enforcement Administration, and Food and Drug Administration.
- Maintains required licenses and certifications, upholds company policies, and fosters a positive, team-oriented approach to all responsibilities.
While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus.
The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

- Requires 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting.
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
- Licensed and in good standing with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
